Report
The match commenced on Monday week between the Kiama and Jamberoo Clubs, and postponed that afternoon in consequence of the rain, was again entered upon and concluded last Monday, the Prince of Wales Club being the winner by two notches, and with two wickets to spare. One or two mistakes on the part of the Kiama players, from a little deficiency of knowledge of the rules of the game lost them some scoring. For instance, one of their best hands innocently took up the ball when he was at the stumps, and thereby put himself out, and but for this they think that the result of the game might have been difficult. The play was not generally first-rate, as there had not been much practice on either side ; but the match was a pleasant one and passed off, we believe, without any disagreement. The Return is to be played in about a month, at Jamberoo. We append the score of the first innings on both sides, but we have not been able to obtain the second day's score in time for this issue, as it has been taken away by one of the players who has gone into the country not to return till the end of the week.
