A cricket match between the Shoalhaven and Kiama clubs was played on Tuesday last, in Mr. Monaghan's paddock. The weather (as is usually the case at the time of the visit of the Kiama club) was very unfavourable, the players having to leave the field about one o'clock, in consequence of a heavy fall of rain; the ground was also in a very bad condition. The Shoalhaven team apparently have benefitted much by their practice during the season, for the batting of Thurgate and the bowling of H. McKenzie deserve commendation. the dullness of the weather, and the absence of a few of their good players, rather damped the spirits of the Kiama men, for they showed anything but their usual good play. At the termination of the match, all assembled at Isaac's hotel, where a capital spread was furnished by the Shoalhaveners in honour of their opponents. Mr. Gollan was umpire for Shoalhaven, and Mr. D. Hyam for Kiama. Mr F. Miller acted as scorer for the former; Mr I. Hyam for the latter.
