CRICKET MEETING – A meeting of the Kiama United Cricket Club was held at the Steam Packet Hotel on Friday evening last, with a view to open the season of 1873-4.
There was not a large attendance owing to the meeting which had been duly advertised having been postponed. It was resolved to commence the season with a married and single match on Friday, the 16th instant, the highest scorer in which is to be presented with a prize bat; and it was further resolved that no member should be permitted to play whose contributions for the close season (during the months from June to October) were not paid up – Several members paid up their arrears; and other unimportant business done, when the meeting closed. The members seem determined to maintain the game with becoming vigour.
