A one innings match, double wicket, was played on the Church Reserve, on Thursday last, between the Kiama United and an eleven from Gerringong, which resulted in an easy victory for the Kiama team. The play in general, on either side, was by no means the best, either in the field or with the bat. R.King, who earned his score of 24 by some good batsmanship, certainly distinguished himself; and for the Gerringong team, Taylor was the only one who displayed any hitting power. J.McCaffrey’s bowling, with the exception of a few wides, was tolerably good. At the close of the game the two teams interchanged hearty cheers; and a new ball was handed by the vanquished to the victors. The following are the scores:-
